Following is a pic of my chevron blanket, it looks more pointy on top than bottom but I'll just keep going anyway. I'm sure it will still keep me warm on a cold winters night. The blanket goes the width of a double bed.

Chevron update

Well I've had a busy few weeks so I haven't had the time to do much work on my chevron blanket. Here is an updated photo from last night. I've managed to add another couple of rows since then.

More to come soon

The Ekka - The Royal QLD Show

Friday I visited the Ekka (Royal QLD Show) and had a ball, I haven't been to a royal show since I was 15 and as I'm relatively new to Brisbane was keen to check it out. My fav part was the animals in show, here are a few highlights.

Chevron progress

What a stressful day, actually it has been a really stressful week. How do I de-stress? Crochet of course! Tonight I'm watching an old 80's movie and working on my chevron blanket. The pattern I chose has me single crocheting at the back of each stitch and this creates a nice rib pattern adding another element. I'll probably crochet a few inches in pink then switch to grey.

A little inspiration to end with, I found this on Facebook today

Something just for me

Finally I've started a chevron afghan just for me. I'm using 8ply soft carnival acrylic yarn in pink and grey purchased from BigW. Normally I'm a strict 100% wool gal but this carnival yarn is really soft and lovely and such pretty colours too that I couldn't resist. I'm using the free pattern below from ravelry if you're interested in crocheting along with me.

More progress pics to follow as I go along. The chain (counting) was the hardest along with the first row but after that its much easier and less counting. I tied coloured yarn in a different colour every time I chained 50 as there were 252 chains in this, it helped keep count of where I was up to.

Have a great weekend, happy hooking!
