Crochet beanie tutorial

Yesterday I mentioned I would get back to you with the link to the online crochet beanie tutorial I used to make my beanies, unfortunately pasting the link doesn't work. Please google DzCrochetCreations, her patterns can be found on Etsy and Ravelry.

Recent projects

I can't begin to tell you how many times over the years I've knitted a scarf, as my knitting skills consist of stocking stitch they all looked the same. I've always longed to make a beanie to go with my scarf but after many failed attempts I finally nailed it.

Surfing the net I found a you tube instruction video showing step by step how to crochet an adult beanie....success....woo hoo, I finally did it. After sharing photos of my beanie on Facebook it wasn't long before my nephews called to put their order in for on in their team colours. Now my ripple blanket is sitting on the back burner while I make some colourful beanies.

I'll be posting a link to the you tube video I used shortly in case you'd like to try too.

Double Dutch, say what???

Are you a beginner crocheter like me and eager to get started but are feeling daunted by the double Dutch speak when it comes to reading patterns and choosing the right hook for your project? Not to fear, I discovered a useful website today which provides a glossary of abbreviations to help you decipher your pattern and a conversion table of hook sizes for US and UK.

I also recently downloaded a couple of good apps for crochet that help you plan your next project from hook size to what yarn you will need and I've already put them to use. I apologise that the picture resolution is not to clear. Stay tuned for more posts of some of my recent projects.
